I come home the other night to discover a care package waiting on my doorstep.
Not just any care package, mind you but a Diwali care package from Mom, Paps and my grandma.
It’s filled with snacks, candy, homemade treats and because my mom is awesome and health conscious – a pomegranate!

Even though I’m a thousand miles away, I know I’m never far from home.

Happy Diwali, guys!

Scene from a Friday.
So, my office flooded. Like, the lobby resembles a kiddie pool, the carpets are squelchy and sodden and the automatic privacy doors don’t open. Conditions being what they are, the higher-ups told us to go home. Awesome, right?
Yeah, not so much.
See, Augs and I carpooled today. His office didn’t flood, so he’s work and I’m hanging out in the lobby of his building, sipping Diet Coke and watching CNN. Lesson to be learned from all this? Learn to drive stick.
Hope your Friday is going better than mine.

A scene from a slow Friday afternoon. Welcome to my view – a picture of me and Augs in front of the Delorean, a card from my sister with a remarkably honest quote from Office Space, a whole lot of pens and a platinum Google Reader badge.

I sent my sister a care package – a mix CD filled with the musical stylings of Teenage Fanclub, Big Star, Norah Jones and Van Morrison, salt water taffy and socks.

In return, I got an awesome email in which my sister said, “The decoration on the box was sweet, you’re going to make the best mom ever one day!”

Which is the nicest thing anyone has ever said about me.

I wonder if I can fit a pony in her next care package….
